This photo tour describes a bus tour I took of Death Valley. The tour will generally move from north to south and then exit the valley to the west. |
In 1933 Death Valley was designated a national monument. The Desert Protection Act of 1994 added some acres to the monument and changed the designation to a National Park covering approximately 3.3 million acres of desert and mountains; the largest National Park currently in the system.
